Tracking apps

A mobile app to be launched in UK will allow parents to monitor remotely all the online activity of their children and not all children are happy about that, as reported in this BBC News story.

The growth of tracking apps is rising and is likely to become more commonplace.  Is this the best way to ensure that children stay safe or does it lesson the importance of teaching children and young people how to stay safe and become responsible users of the technology that they carry in their pockets?
